Why
Bridge
This basketball prospect event serves as a platform to bridge aspiring athletes and HBCU basketball programs. By bringing coaches and recruiters to evaluate top talent in the region, this event creates opportunities for more student-athletes to attend and play at the collegiate level.
Opportunities
The format of our event provides a comprehensive evaluation to showcase ability and skills.
Networking
How
Media interviews during the event allow the athletes to experience on-camera situations while expressing their dedication, work ethic, and aspirations.
The five-on-five scrimmages allow players to demonstrate their skills in a game-like atmosphere, showcasing their teamwork, decision-making, and overall basketball IQ. The presence of HBCU head, associate, and assistant coaches in the audience offers a tremendous opportunity for players to capture the attention of these college coaches, who may be seeking talented athletes to recruit for their programs.

HBCUs with men’s basketball programs
Players are nominated by high school and AAU coaches based on their knowledge and evaluation of potential players from their programs. This strategy promotes fair selection standards and gives opportunities to excellent athletes who might otherwise go unnoticed.
Outcomes
Prospects are invited based on their ability and potential, resulting in a highly competitive and focused environment. This increases the likelihood of exceptional athletes to connect with HBCU coaches who may offer scholarships or other opportunities to play for their programs.
The combination of athletic drills, game play, interviews, medical testing, and physical measurements makes for a thorough and meaningful event for prospective basketball players interested in attending HBCUs.
In knowing the statistics, our goal is for athletes to get extra exposure and earn a position to play for a college basketball program. Our broader community impact is to inspire more student-athletes to pursue higher learning. Families will witness a culturally rich atmosphere and the pride that current students and alums have for their university during the HBCU Experience (college fair).
We are excited to provide this opportunity to student-athletes. This centralized approach can help athletes gain more exposure, which is crucial for their development. It opens doors for athletes to pursue higher education while continuing to play the sport they love.
This initiative can significantly impact the prospects’ lives by providing them a platform to explore academic and athletic opportunities and secure scholarships.
